Dear Sina97ala Members,
It is with utmost enthusiasm that we bring you the latest updates from our recent ocular in Laoag, Ilocos Norte held on July 28 and 29, 2024. This ocular, organized in preparation for our upcoming Surgical Mission in March 2025, was made possible in partnership with The Good Hope Foundation, our esteemed benefactor.
During our visit, we had the privilege of meeting the Governor of Ilocos Norte, the Hon. Matthew Manotoc. We were also graced by the presence of Dra. Arlene Ragasa, the medical director of Gov. Roque B. Ablan Sr. Memorial Hospital, Dra. Amelen Palanca, the immediate past president of the Ilocos Norte Medical Society and Dra. Jennifer Ang , Chairperson of the Department of Surgery in GRBASMH. We shared Sina97ala’s vision and mission with Governor Manotoc, who expressed his delight in Laoag being chosen as the beneficiary for our 2025 Surgical Mission. He has assured us of his full support, particularly in ensuring that our efforts reach and benefit the grassroots of the community.
Dr. Arlene Ragasa graciously guided us on a tour of the hospital facilities. We visited the Outpatient Department, where we plan to hold Lay Forums on Mental Illness, inspected the Operating Room Facilities and Equipment, and explored the hospital wards.
Additionally, we explored the possibility of accommodating our team at Fort Ilocandia Resort Hotel during the mission, ensuring a comfortable and conducive environment for all involved.
We are immensely grateful for the warm reception and support we have received from Governor Manotoc, Dr. Arlene Ragasa, Dra. Amelen Palanca, Dr. Jennifer Ang and the entire community of Laoag. Together with The Good Hope Foundation, we are confident that our 2025 Surgical Mission will make a significant impact on the lives of those in need.
